Dr. Simoné Jalon-Main, Psy.D., PMH-C

Director, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Virtual services in DC, MD, PA, and PSYPACT states

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of clinical experience across varying levels of mental health care: inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. My primary specialties are in treating OCD and related disorders, anxiety disorders, perinatal and postpartum mental health, insomnia, and emotion regulation. My past experience working in university counseling centers and outpatient mental health clinics has also contributed to my specialization in general stress management, worries, depression, relational issues, and life changes. I became a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) to serve a population I am very passionate about. This credential is given to professionals who have completed extensive training around the unique mental health challenges faced by individuals during the perinatal and postpartum periods. I practice from an integrated, compassionate, and genuine approach. My work is client-centered and flexible to unique and individual needs. I greatly value the therapeutic relationship and focus on building a trusting and safe environment with all of my clients.

I received my Masters (M.A.) and Doctorate (Psy.D.) degrees in clinical psychology from La Salle University, an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited Program. I completed my APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, where I received extensive training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). My post-doctoral fellowship was at an outpatient practice where I received specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Prior to launching SJM Psychology, LLC, I served as the primary psychologist for students at Georgetown University’s School of Medicine for three years. I hold an adjunct teaching position in Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies and have previously taught in American University’s Ph.D. program. I currently serve as the Secretary for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Association of Contextual Behavioral Science (MAC-ACBS) and am part of the OCD and Perinatal SIG groups of ACBS.
